Excelsior microbiology
by Marilyn
Hi, I took the excelsiors microbiology exam a couple months ago and it wasn't as bad as what I thought it would be. I would know the shapes and types of microbes. Get familliar with the diseases they cause and the staining processes. I wouldn't put great effort into memorizing chemistry, though it helps to understand the material in the book. I wouldn't go into alot of detail about the microscopes as far as knowing the types. Get familliar with the environmental part of the book, too. I think that is the last chapter. As far as the diseases, there was a lot of questions on AIDS. Read your book, follow the study guide and you should be fine. If there is an area you have trouble with, (mine was chemistry) don't focus on just that and really know the material that is easier to understand. Hope I have been of help!
