ALEKS driving me crazy! :)

This wouldn't be a brag-thing, but a need-motivation thing. :) I'm undoubtedly losing all my previous hard-earned test-taking skills by fooling around for what seems like an eternity with this sloooooooow ALEKS. Ugh. And I'm working so hard on it too, with what's left of my extremely-math-challenged-nearly-50-grannie brain.

Has anyone else who only needs a humble 6 easy math credits ACtually ever completed ALEKS beg & int algebra and lived to tell it?? How long did it take you? Ugh. There's got to be an easier way. Thanks. :)

I did ALEKS for Algebra and Statistics. I did them both within 2 months. Yes, I just about wen insane. All I could think was math.
TIP: If you are doing it for college credit, you only have to assess at 70% percent before you apply to ACE for credit. I left the hard topics and did the easier ones. :)

Hey there,

ALEKS really is a pain. I'm in high school, and a few years ago we did ALEKS as part of our math classes. All we did during class time and for homework was work on ALEKS, so ALEKS basically WAS our math class. I did ALEKS algebra and geometry. It took about a year each time. It's so lengthly and meticulous, and it drove most of us crazy, so I'd say doing it in a few months is pretty impressive! After all, you have to remember each course contains a year's worth of information anyway. I don't know if I'd do it again for college, but unfortunately, I don't think I have the option anyway :(

Tip: I don't know if this is true or not, but here's something I heard back then. You have to submit ALEKS 100% complete to get credit right? After you finish all the pie slices, ALEKS assigns you one last final assessment that encompasses every topic. More than likely, you're gonna miss something on the final assessment, and then you'll have to redo the topic in ALEKS, and THEN take the final assessment again until you're 100% perfect.

What I heard is, if you finish the pie, but DON'T take the final assessment...then it remains at 100%. That's what I did, and it worked out fine. Thought I'd share :)

I feel your pain!! I did both Algebra and Stats with ALEKS. I hated Algebra....wanted to pull my hair out DAILY! BUT....I made it through both! I hope you got through it! :)

I survived ALEKS...

I took Precalculus and Statistics through ALEKS...back to back. Torture would probably be a good way to describe it. :)

Anyhow, Stats was first, and took 5 weeks. Precalculus took about 2-2.5 months, if I remember correctly. That whole process really slowed me down.

ALEKS is still great, because it guarantees you pass if you just stick there long enough. Keep at it...you can do it!
