Technical Writing Dsst - Passed It!
(New Haven, CT-USA)
I passed this test today and I feel good!
Real talk, I honestly studied two days before the test as well as the night before and briefly before the test started. The Dantes study guide (brown book) was all I needed. The CollegeBoard clep study guide book, as well as instant cert. academy, trash and a waste of money. Free Clep Prep will set you on the right path. Everything they cover is on the test, just in different wordings and format. About one third of this is exam is a no brainer with another 35 questions being easy as long as you know you definitions and terms.
Also, I am a writer and do very well in composition (though it may not look like it from the way I'm writing now) so that also helped me. About a third of this exam involves editing grammer, punctuation and mechanics. Overall, this is a smooth 3 credits to grab and they count as liberal arts credits as well. Read the brown book-Dantes Study guide which you may be able to access for free via this website and those 20 or so pages is enough for you to pass this exam.
Warning: if you are horrible at composition or you hate writing and or reading, this may be more challenging to you. It's worth a shot though.
